Korey Hampton

Board Emeritus

Korey earned her Master’s degree in Sports Medicine at the University of Miami and worked in Division 1 collegiate athletics for over a decade, where her focus was the prevention of incidents and accidents, and the management of emergency responses when they did happen.

Since then, Korey has transitioned into full-time work in the professional outdoor adventure industry, starting as a river guide. French Broad Adventures, the rafting company she started with her husband and brother-in-law 20 years ago, now boasts an ACCT-Accredited zipline canopy tour (the first in the world!), a canyoneering program, and a climbing wall. She also works part-time for an ACCT PVM as a challenge course trainer, inspector, and operation reviewer.

Korey is a member of the panel that developed and launched ACCT’s Operation Accreditation program and serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the ACCT, the international trade organization for the challenge course and aerial adventure industry.

Her certifications include ACA Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue, ACCT Challenge Course Manager, ACCT Level 2 Professional Inspector; and she is also an ACCT-Approved Operation Reviewer. Korey is a member of the AMRT (Appalachian Mountain Rescue Team), an MRA-certified search and rescue team, and is also a swift water and high-angle rescue team member of her local Fire Department.
